“The Feeling of Water”

This painting of Shoshone Falls includes two of my favorite things to paint in watercolor, water and shades of white. As is often the case, most of my time on this painting was spent on the “set up” for the main event, the falls. That is the canyon walls, the rocks, the pools, and the streams. Painting the falls went quickly, and I believe I successfully captured the feeling of a large amount of water cascading and disappearing into mist.
